Women and Housing – A Community Conversation
March 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeEven before COVID-19, 1 in 7 Washington State households spent more than half their income on housing. Because of increased housing costs and growing income inequality, nearly one-third of households in the United States face cost burdens – paying either at least 30 percent of their income for housing (cost-burdened) or at least half of their income on housing (severely cost-burdened). These burdens leave nearly 38 million households with little income to afford the cost of food, health care and other basic necessities.
Join Habitat for Humanity of Island County for a discussion about affordable housing in Island County, particularly as it affects women. Panelist include local female leaders and Habitat homeowners who will speak on a variety of topics concerning housing. There will be a Q&A session to wrap it all up.
Space is limited to 100 Zoom users so please register early.
